Tell Me a Story: Cancer Patient Inspires Pediatric Oncologist

Tell Me a Story: Cancer Patient Inspires Pediatric Oncologist Tube. Duration : 3.50 Mins.

Dr. Denise Adams, a pediatric oncologist at Cincinnati Children's, treats kids with rare vascular tumors. She wears a bracelet made by one of her patients, Regan Arnold, who is 16, the same age as one of Adams' own children. Regan was a high school track runner who came to Cincinnati Children's in excruciating pain. Doctors diagnosed her with something called lymphangiosarcoma, a lymphatic blood-vessel cancer that is almost unheard of in kids. The cancer is in Regan's bones, near her spine, and is extremely painful. Despite it all, Regan has kept an amazing attitude. In this "Tell Me a Story," Regan and Dr. Adams talk about how Regan makes bracelets to help other kids feel better. And she takes orders for bracelets from doctors and nurses throughout the hospital.
